Q: I’m getting married at night. How will I see?
A: If you’re getting married on a sea turtle nesting beach, you must comply with our beach lighting ordinance May 1-October 31. Most of Driftwood Beach is considered a nesting beach, so it’s a good idea to use turtle-friendly lighting. That means no lighting unless it’s sea turtle-friendly, which is amber or red LEDs, at least 560 nanometers. We also don’t allow fires on our public beaches, so no open flames or tiki torches.

However, if neither party is a Georgia resident, then you must apply for the license in the county where the wedding will occur.
