Take a ‘cold-stunned’ plunge into the chilly Atlantic in support of sea turtles on the Georgia coast! Join us for this third annual fun-and-frigid fundraising event for the Jekyll Island Authority’s Georgia Sea Turtle Center. Many sea turtles get caught in hypothermic water temperatures during the winter months, and your support will assist with cold-stun rehabilitation and recovery. Take the plunge and raise some funds!
Registration opens at 8:30 a.m. in Beach Village. Plungers should be on the beach and ready to plunge at 9:15 a.m. There will be on-site EMS and public safety staff.
All ages are welcome to participate.
All children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult on the beach.
No refunds, rain or shine event. Canceled for extreme weather conditions only. This event is BYOT: bring your own towel and dry clothes.

Plungers will receive a 2023 Simply Southern™ branded t-shirt (XS – 3XL). Register by October 26 to guarantee a t-shirt. T-shirt not guaranteed after this date.
Switching to virtual must be completed by November 6, 2023. No changes will be accepted after this date. Picked the wrong size shirt? Participants are welcome to exchange their t-shirts at the end of the event at the registration table, pending what sizes remain available.
