Ride with Night Patrol

Join our Night Patrol team for a rare, behind-the-scenes look at sea turtle conservation on Jekyll Island. During this nighttime beach patrol, participants will ride alongside field biologists as they survey the shoreline in search of nesting sea turtles and monitor the island’s beaches during the height of nesting season. Guests will ride along the beach in utility terrain vehicles (UTVs) and accompany biologists on foot as they monitor the shoreline for nesting activity. If a sea turtle is encountered, participants may have the opportunity to observe – and potentially assist – the patrol team as they document nesting behavior and collect important scientific data. Because sea turtles are wild animals, sightings cannot be guaranteed, but every patrol offers a unique opportunity to experience the real work of protecting these remarkable animals. For the safety of wildlife, only trained staff may handle turtles if one is observed.
