Jekyll Beer of Yesteryear

Jekyll Beer of Yesteryear

In recognition of Jekyll Island being the founding home of Georgia’s original brewery in 1747, enjoy a special tasting and talk to learn all about the fascinating history of beer! This special program includes a four-flight sampling of local beers specially selected by Silver Bluff Brewing, a favorite in the Golden Isles.

Brewery staff will be on hand to introduce you to the bold flavors and hop selection process that goes into each beer selected. Participants will also learn about Major William Horton and the origins of his process to brew beer on Jekyll Island during the Colonial Era. Included with purchase, guests will receive a commemorative pint glass representing the site of Georgia’s first brewery, the historic Horton House, and a complimentary pint pour. The event will also include live music, light snacks and additional commemorative merchandise for sale through the museum’s gift shop.
