Safety Protocols

General Health & Safety

The park has stringent safety protocols in place and is operating under all guidelines required by the Department of Health.

To ensure our visitors can maintain effective social distancing, the park will operate under a limited capacity, until further notice. Guests are strongly encouraged to purchase advanced tickets online or reserve Season Pass access to ensure entry on the date(s) of choice. We cannot guarantee entry will be available if park capacity has been reached.

Hand sanitizing pumps and stations will be located throughout the park including at the top and bottom of each water slide and experience. Guests are strongly encouraged to use these frequently, particularly before eating or drinking.

All water slides will have designated floor markers to encourage social distancing and many water experiences will have a designated entrance and exit. Guests are strongly encouraged to follow all floor markets and ENTER & EXIT signs.

For guests interested in same-day re-entry, a wristband will be provided upon exiting the park. Guests are encouraged to leave wristbands on, as broken wristbands will not be accepted for re-entry.

Guests placing orders from Larry’s Giant Subs will now pick up their orders at the designated pickup station. Food runners will no longer be delivering food. To eliminate standing in line, guests are strongly encouraged to order through Larry’s Giant Subs Mobile App and select the Jekyll Island location for pick up.

Additional snack vending machines have been added around the park for contact-free service, and new pre-packaged snacks have been added to the Snack Hut menus to reduce direct food handling.

Park staff who have contact with guests will be required to wear assigned face masks and gloves, as appropriate.

Customer service counters will have plexiglass dividers, to further establish social distancing.

We have partnered with EcoLab to have hospital-grade disinfectants available for use in all restroom facilities as well as increased maintenance and service frequency of these facilities, as well as all high-contact surfaces (handrails, doorknobs, etc.) throughout the park.

All park employees will be screened and evaluated prior to working. All Jekyll Island Authority employees with illnesses including flu-like symptoms will be required to stay home and seek medical attention.

Encouraging increased frequency of handwashing and sanitation efforts by all Jekyll Island Authority employees.

Increased sanitation of public surfaces including countertops, doorknobs, and other areas throughout our facilities that frequently come into contact with the public.

Travel-size hand sanitizer products can be purchase at our Surf Shop, as available.

Advanced tickets are available online, reducing the number of services guests need to touch, and on-site credit card transactions machines will be sanitized after use.

Park staff will monitor for guests that exhibit signs of COVID-19, and any guests showing signs must exit the park with their party.

Our First Aid Station will limit the number of guests to 1 patient and 1 guest at a time, and the facility will be thoroughly disinfected following each visit.

Locker usage will be limited to a first-come, first-serve basis. Only 1 family member per locker will be allowed inside the locker area. Small children can accompany their guardian. Park visitors are encouraged to reduce the number of items brought to the park so those who need a locker will have access.
