Country Star to Rock Jekyll Island
Join us on Jekyll Island this August as we recognize the champions of our country for the Rodney Atkins’ America’s Heroes
Celebration Weekend! Dedicated to the brave men and women who serve in our nation’s military, this weekend celebration will bring together families and friends for several exciting events throughout Jekyll Island, including a spotlight for one of the biggest names in the country music circuit.
Get ready to rock the weekend of August 16 to 18, ending with a concert from country music all-star Rodney Atkins! Atkins will take the stage Sunday, August 18 at the Jekyll Island Convention Center to entertain crowds in a mega-salute to the men and women of our military.
From noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, the Beach Party and festival continues with more live entertainment from several local acts, as well as performances from Nashville newcomers Cole Taylor and Marjory Lee, followed by the highlight of the weekend: A live concert with country music superstar Rodney Atkins, dedicated to Active Duty and Veterans of all military branches.
The east Tennessee-native will take to the Jekyll Island Convention Center stage, performing songs off his yet-to-be-released new album, as well as performing his hits, such as “Take a Back Road,” “Farmer’s Daughter,” and “These are My People.”
Country music songwriter and performer Rose Falcon will open the concert, showcasing the same skills and talents she used when performing alongside fellow country hit-makers Faith Hill, Lady Antebellum, and Jessie James. The Atkins concert starts at 5 p.m., with Falcon taking the stage at 4 p.m.
Make plans to make it a big weekend with Rodney Atkins as we salute the men and women of our military.

Take it to the Beach
On August 17, enjoy the Jekyll Island Beach Party, featuring the Carolina Breakers playing alongside DJ Wayne Bennett. Along with the beachfront concert, guests can enjoy cold libations, as well as a full list of vendors and games. Additional entertainment will continue after the Beach Party portion has ended.
The Carolina Breakers will perform at the Shag-A-Ganza Friday night at the Morgan Center, and again at Saturday’s Beach Party. The Beach Party will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, August 17 at Great Dunes Park. Admission to the Beach Party is free.
Following the afternoon Beach Party and evening concert with Dean Torrence and the Surf City All-Stars, head back outdoors for the grand fireworks display at Great Dunes Park. The fireworks show will start about 9:30 p.m., and is free and open to the public. Once the display has wrapped, keep the party going at Latitude 31 & Rah Bar, where Marjory Lee will host an intimate concert of soulful country music for guests on the wharf. The concert is free and tickets are not required.
Party with The Boys
Join headliner Dean Torrence, of Jan & Dean Torrence, alongside the Surf City All-Stars for a concert at the Jekyll Island Convention Center. This beach-buzzing night will showcase true talents from eras gone by, as Dean Torrence crones the audience with his hits such as “Little Old Lady from Pasadena” and “Dead Man’s Curve.” The Surf City All-Stars will prove to be just that, as all band members were once part of the Beach Boys and will perform the hits just like they did back then. Doors open at 4:45 p.m. for a pre-show dinner, with the concert area opening at 6:30 p.m. The show begins at 7 p.m. Don’t forget to bring your dancing shoes!
