  Holidays in History Tour

Venture back in time as the Jekyll Island Museum takes you on a guided holiday tour of the Jekyll Island Historic District. Experience the beauty of the Historic District richly decorated in holiday splendor as you learn about Christmas customs, songs, and traditions spanning from the Victorian Era to the Jazz Age.  Tours begin at the Jekyll Island Museum on Stable Road and take guests along the winding roads of the 240-acre Jekyll Island Club National Historic Landmark District and inside two different cottages.

A costumed interpreter welcomes you along the way and conveys their story. You might meet John Eugene or Alice Dubignon, filled with holiday spirit, during the time when their family owned Jekyll Island in its entirety.  You might bump into Head Housekeeper Minnie Schuppan, or Club Superintendent Ernest Grob, readying a cottage for the Club Members' arrival.  You might exchange Christmas greetings with a Club Member or guest on their way out for a round of golf. Each tour is different and provides a unique look into Christmas during the turn of the 20th century.

Tours depart daily December 6-31, excluding Christmas Day and Christmas Eve, at 11 am, 1 pm, & 3 pm.

$16 Adults, $7 Children 6-12, Free under 6.
