Why Nicholas Would Love a Jekyll Island Dream Wedding: Every great wedding has a great love story behind it, and Jekyll Island is as much a part of ours that I couldn't imagine a better setting for our wedding. Early in our relationship, I surprised Kristen with a weekend at the Jekyll Island Club Hotel. As we drove across the bridge onto the island she grabbed my arm and whispered, "It feels like I'm in a movie." I knew it was going to be a wonderful weekend.
While on the Island we explored the beautiful bike paths, relaxed on the tranquil beaches, and toured historic houses that provided the backdrop for our love to truly blossom. Everything we did that weekend played its' part in the first time I told Kristen, "I love you," and I have been saying it to her every day ever since.
After a year-long assignment in Baghdad, Iraq I couldn't have chosen a better place to reunite and reconnect with Kristen than the same place where we fell in love. The serene and relaxing setting swept us away and it felt as if we had never left each other's side.The setting alone is the perfect destination for our wedding, but I also think that it's the best place for our families to come together and celebrate our marriage. I hope to make Jekyll Island and the Jekyll Island Club Hotel a part of the next chapter of our love story as the perfect place to say 'I do.'

Why Jennifer Would Love a Jekyll Island Dream Wedding: My fiancee and I have been planning a wedding for several months. Our original wedding date was May 14, 2011 but we had to cancel it due to the horrific storms & tornadoes that ripped our home town of Ringgold, GA to pieces. We lost a lot of important, priceless pieces. Why Jessica Would Love a Jekyll Island Dream Wedding: The calmest I have ever felt was lying in Matt's arms on the beach staring up at the Milky Way. We were both research interns on a small island in the Golden Isles, but we discovered more than just science over the summer. Together we explored the beautiful driftwood beaches, observed bioluminescence in the inland marshes, searched for Loggerhead turtles laying eggs, and watched dolphins jump in the sound at sunset. The Golden Isles is a real-world paradise, and for one golden summer Matt and I basked in everything it had to offer and we fell in love.
Two and a half years after our internship we are happily engaged. As we reflect on where we should be married our minds -and hearts- drifted back to Jekyll Island and the Golden Isles. We imagine having our first kiss as a married couple under the Live Oaks draped in Spanish moss, and dancing under the bright stars on a stunning beach. We want to share the magic of Jekyll Island and the Golden Isles with our family and close friends to celebrate our marriage where our story began. We fell in love in the Golden Isles looking at the Milky Way and we know that Jekyll Island is the perfect place to say "I do" to our future together.

Why Tim Would Love a Jekyll Island Dream Wedding: 6 months ago, I met the woman of my dreams. We hit it off right away, and fell in love. I am a father of 2 boys, 13 and 8. Shelley has 2 children as well, 15 (boy) and 11 (girl). The 6 of us have spent the last 6 months getting to know one another and everyone was getting along well and all seemed great. We started discussing and initial planning of getting married, until about two weeks ago when my Angel was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma.
Although the cure rate is good, the future is still uncertain. We find out the final staging and treatment plan this week and she will start chemo by the end of August. This has obviously put wedding planning on the back burner and put more important things to the forefront.
Jekyll Island looks like a fabulous place and seems fit to hold the wedding of my princess. She is a wonderful woman, a wonderful mom, daughter and friend and I can't wait to say a wonderful wife.
Her birthday is Mar 4th, and what better gift than to be married that weekend, than to give her one more bright and wonderful thing to think about, to help fight for in the upcoming battle she has ahead of her. She has dreamt of being married since a little girl, to be treated like a princess, and she is so deserving. I hope you can help.

Why Jacqueline Would Love a Jekyll Island Dream Wedding: Even though I currently live in paradise, Jekyll Island is my most favorite place in the world. From the moment I first arrived, driving through the moonlit marshes approaching the island, I fell in love. Much like I fell fast in love with my future husband Josh---there was just something very special about it. When you think of a beach vacation destination you picture a "strip" of beach shops, bars, and restaurants. Jekyll is truly a diamond in the rough because it has none of that. Jekyll Island historically served as a playground to the super wealthy, and after first visiting there it was easy to tell why.
I love the overall seclusion of the island. I love the peace and tranquility of the elegant Spanish moss swaying from the trees. I love the adventure of the winding bike paths and hidden bridges. I love how you never know what kind of critter you may locate! I love the stretch of classic architecture in the homes and ruins from the past. I love the old glamor and grandness of the hotel accompanied with modern sophistication and charm. Most of all, I love how Jekyll can really unite two people with it's stillness and beautiful surroundings.
Jekyll Island provides visitors with southern hospitality without even trying. There truly is no other place like it in the United States...and I have only mentioned the scenery! I also adore the food for one simple reason--SHRIMP! There are no other shrimp like Jekyll shrimp on the planet. They have a mild sweetness to them unmatched anywhere else. The Brunswick stew is off of the charts too. For some reason, everything just tastes better there.I want to have a destination wedding. I cannot think of a better destination to begin sharing my life with Josh than Jekyll Island. It's natural elegance and laid back tone compliments how my fiance and I are in our relationship. Jekyll Island has a special place in my heart and I cannot imagine spending our beginning anywhere else.

Why Ansley Would Love a Jekyll Island Dream Wedding: I have lived in GA my entire life, but had never been to Jekyll Island. My now fiance told me he wanted to take me on a weekend getaway, and said he had many fond memories of going to Jekyll Island when he was young, with his family, and since I had never been, we agreed to go there. He made all the plans for the weekend, so I wasn't sure what to expect, but once we drove onto the island, I completely fell in love with it. The scenery is absolutely breathtaking, and the views from anywhere you are, are just amazing. We stayed at the Jekyll Island Club Hotel, which is so beautiful. The history behind the island is something we were both very interested in and excited to learn more about. We explored the island the first day there, and then that night got ready for dinner and walked around the grounds of the hotel, taking pictures. Right before we went to dinner, we sat on a bench overlooking the river, and he asked me to marry him. It was a perfect moment, and one of the best of my life. The rest of the weekend was complete bliss, and I keep reliving different moments over in my head, and wishing I was back there. I think we both truly fell in love with Jekyll Island and can't picture our wedding anywhere else.
Since I've started the planning process, I can't seem to find anything that measures up to it in my search (and I have an extensive spreadsheet). My fiance says he'll be happy wherever we have the wedding, but each place I show him, he compares to Jekyll, and so do I. It would be a such a dream for us to have our wedding there, and I can't picture a more perfect day. I would be honored and elated to be able to show our friends and family this amazing place that the two of us fell in love with.
