Two Nights of Comedy Come to the Jekyll Island Club Hotel
Join us on Jekyll for giggles and laughs when the Historic Jekyll Island Club Hotel presents two nights of comedy and class! The Jekyll Island Club Hotel, located in the beautiful National Historic Landmark District on Jekyll Island, will host the inaugural Comedy Weekend this January, featuring two nights of nonstop laughter with six of the nation’s most acclaimed comedians. Being held at the hotel’s renowned Morgan Center, the dual days of comedy will bring a little heat to your winter season.
On Friday, January 25, the comedyevent will kick-off with comedians MG Gaskin, Mike Armstrong, and Julie Scoggins. Then on Saturday, January 26, comedians David Crowe and Ralph Harris will take the stage. On both nights, Jeff Jena will serve as MC and host.
Individual tickets can be purchased for January 25th ($25) and January 26th ($35), and you can also upgrade to a VIP ticket for an additional $35 which includes front row seating and after party with the comedians.
To make the most of the dual nights of comedy, the Jekyll Island Club Hotel is offering the Comedy Weekend Package. The package is priced to sell at $489, which includes two nights at the Clubhouse or traditional accommodations with queen, king or two double beds (room tax included). A breakfast buffet in the Grand Dining Room is included each morning, as well as preferred seating at the both Friday and Saturday night comedy shows.
Want to make the two nights of laughs even more special? Join the Club Hotel at any of their classic dining options. Choose between the Grand Dining Room or The Courtyard at Crane, both of which as great choices to start the evening off right. Dinner in the Grand Dining Room is always a memorable experience, as the chef prepares continental and low-country specialties, as well as dishes with a European flair.
An outstanding alfresco restaurant featuring an arcaded loggia surrounding a fountain courtyard, the Courtyard at Crane provides Mediterranean meals with the perfect atmosphere to enjoy all the history Jekyll Island has to offer. And of course, leave plenty of time to stop by The Pub on the way to the show for a crowd-pleasing drink.
Staying with the hotel Saturday night? Then make sure to join Sunday Brunch in the Grand Dining Room. About the Comedians: Jeffrey Jena is one of the top corporate and cruise comics working today. In his thirty years as a stand-up comic Jeffrey Jena has appeared on over 40 national television shows. MG Gaskin is the most requested clean comedian and MC. He leaves out the profanity and smut and still consistently delivers solid, hilarious shows. Mike Armstrong was a former policeman turned comedian, he brings to stage hilarious anecdotes from his time as a sworn officer. Ralph Harris is a comedian and actor getting his film debut in “Dreamgirls.” When he’s not filming, Harris continues to tour the country and perform to sold-out audiences as a standup comedian, his first career and love. David Crowe is the only comedian in history to have won both the Seattle International Comedy Competition and the San Francisco International Comedy Competition. He also opened for President Clinton in 1996. Julie Scoggins a 6’2” southern ex-trucker, cab driver, baseball mascot, pooper-scooper and charm school graduate. But don’t let that fool you; she’s also one of the funniest comedians on the circuit today.
