Whether you are a Bulldog or a Gator, the Georgia-Florida Golf Classic is a great way to relax and unwind before the annual Georgia-Florida Football Game. Held on Jekyll Island's three beautiful 18-hole golf course, this 32 year tradition, provides the perfect mix of golf, food, and fun. Enjoy two rounds of tournament play, a practice round, and all the food and drinks you want for one all-inclusive tournament registration fee. Wear your team colors, grab your favorite clubs, and show your team spirit in this fun-filled two day golf classic. A portion of the proceeds from the Georgia-Florida Golf Classic benefits the Jekyll Island Foundation.

Three Great Days - One Great Price

The 2011 Georgia-Florida Golf Classic tournament registration fee is an all-inclusive rate.

Registration Fee: $300.

This rate includes the following:

  • Two rounds of tournament play on Jekyll Island's beautiful golf courses, Thursday, October 27 and Friday, October 28.
  • Optional Practice Round on Wednesday, October 26 is included in registration.
  • Two Tickets to the Wednesday Evening Cocktail Party with food and entertainment.
  • Two Tickets to the Thursday Evening Low Country Boil.
  • Breakfast at the Jekyll Island Golf Course on Thursday and Friday morning.
  • Lunch on the Jekyll Island Golf Course on Thursday and Friday afternoon.
  • Beer and soft drinks on the golf course during tournament play.
  • Tournament gift bag.
  • Entry into the annual guest or spouse putting contest.
  • Ticket for player's guest or spouse to the wine & cheese tasting.

By popular demand, eightsomes are back! This time with one shotgun start at 9:00 AM. Everyone will start at the same time and finish at the same time. Team up with another foursome for a fun-filled day of golf. All three of Jekyll Island's championship golf courses will be used during tournament play. Teams will be flighted after the first round using a multiple course index, providing more opportunities to win prizes!

Plus, this year, players have a chance to win one of three Nalley Automotive vehicles through hole in one contests!

Evening Parties

Wednesday

Players and their guests are welcomed to the weekend by the Wednesday Night Cocktail Party. For the first time the Wednesday night Cocktail Party will be held in the beautifully restored Morgan Center and catered by the gourmet chefs at the Jekyll Island Club Hotel. An array of food, drinks, and great music is the perfect way to kick-off the festivities. Entertainment will be provided by Backbeat Boulevard.

Thursday

Thursday evening ushers in the annual Georgia Florida Low Country Boil. Succulent shrimp, delicious sweet corn, and a variety of southern cuisine sure to satisfy any hungry golfer. Entertainment will be provided by Golden Isles favorite Mason Waters and the Groove Allstars!

Tickets

Your tournament registration fees includes two tickets to the evening parties. Additional tickets can be purchased individually for $35.

Date & Time: Friday, October 28, 5:00pm - 8:00pm

Location: Great Dunes Park

Tickets: Entry to the event is free. However tickets for buffet, oysters, and craft brew tasting are $25 per person. Cash bar available. Tickets to the UGA Alumni Oyster Roast are not included with tournament registration.

Beginning at 5 PM, Great Dunes Park will become headquarters for UGA Alumni and fans at the second annual UGA Alumni Oyster Roast. True Bulldogs can relax with cold delicious oysters, live music, cold beverages, and beach breezes. Hosted in conjunction with the UGA Alumni Association, this Friday afternoon gathering is the perfect way to show your alma mater team spirit before the Saturday football showdown.

In addition to roasted oysters, enjoy a buffet by Tasteful Temptations Catering and a craft brew tasting presented by Southern Eagle Distributors. Breweries represented include Southern Tier and New Belgium. Food, music, and craft brew tasting continue until 8 PM.

Booksigning:  Sonny Seiler and Kent Hannon will be on site to sign copies of their book "Damn Good Dogs" along with Robbie Burns, author of "Belue to Scott". As a special treat, UGA football favorite, Lindsay Scott will accompany Robbie Burns to speak with fans about his game winning play that is now the subject of Burns' book.

Brew Cruise: For guests staying on St. Simons Island, the Jekyll Island Authority has partnered with Jekyll Island Dolphin Tours and Coastal Kitchen to provide a Brew Cruise to the Oyster Roast. Tickets include a pre-Roast Cocktail Hour at Coastal Kitchen from 4:00 - 4:45 PM and a boat trip to the Jekyll Island Historic Wharf. Shuttles will take guests to and from the wharf to the Oyster Roast. The return boat trip will launch at 8:15 PM. Tickets are $45. In the case of inclement weather, shuttle buses will take guests to and from Coastal Kitchen

Brew Cruise and Oyster Roast Buffet Combo: Buy tickets for the Brew Cruise, Oyster Roast food buffet, and Craft Brew Tasting together. Tickets are $60.

To purchase tickets in advance contact the Jekyll Island Visitor Information Center at 912-635-3636. Tickets for the buffet and craft brew tasting can be purchased on site, but tickets for the Brew Cruise must be purchased in advance by October 25.
