The Turtle Crawl Triathlon & Nest Fest celebrates athleticism and ecology on Jekyll Island. Known as one of the most scenic triathlons on the East Coast, this USAT sanctioned event includes an Olympic Distance, Sprint Distance, and 5K/10K Run. With so many options, there is something for athletes of every skill level. At the finish line, guests can take part in Nest Fest, educational activities and exhibits culminating with the release of rehabilitated sea turtle from the Georgia Sea Turtle Center. A portion of the event proceeds benefit the Georgia Sea Turtle Center.

Friday, May 18
12:00 PM - 7:00 PM - Packet Pick-up at the Jekyll Island Visitor Information Center.
The Jekyll Island Visitor Information Center is located on the Jekyll Island Causeway, prior to the Jekyll Island Greeting Station. The $5 Jekyll Island daily parking fee is not required to visit the Jekyll Island Visitor Information Center.
6:30 - 8:30 PM - Dash & Dine at Great Dunes Park - Celebrate the opening of the Jekyll Island's beachfront park with a Family Fun Dash to "cut the ribbon". Participation awards for all kids who run or walk. After the dash, enjoy a delicious outdoor pasta dinner at the park and live music. Pasta Dinner: $10 for adults, $5 for kids 4 - 13, Free for kids 3 and younger. Dash Participation: Free for everyone. Reservations must be made in advance for dinner by signing up during race registration or by calling the Jekyll Island Visitor Information Center at 912-635-3636.
Saturday, May 19

All events begin and end at the Jekyll Island Convention Center. A Jekyll Island $5 daily parking fee is required to access Jekyll Island and the event venue.
Dash & Dine - Pasta Dinner and Great Dunes Park Grand Opening
Athletes are invited to Dash & Dine, a pasta dinner and the grand opening of Great Dunes Park the Friday evening before the race. The dash is a Family Fun Run, less than one mile, with the finale being a red ribbon finish line, signifying the grand opening of Great Dunes Park. Dinner and live music begin around 7 PM. All activities take place in front of the new Jekyll Island Convention Center. Adults: $10, Kids 4-13: $5, Kids 3 and under: Free. Make reservations during your race registration or by calling the Jekyll Island Visitor Information Center at 912-635-3636.

The Jekyll Island Club Hotel is offering athletes 35% their normal rack rate for the evening of Friday, May 18, subject to availability. What's New in 2012
New location: The 2012 Turtle Crawl Triathlon will be located in the beachfront park adjacent to the new Jekyll Island Convention Center. Athletes can enjoy finish line activities and food against the backdrop of this beautiful facility opening May 2012. The facility is located directly south of the Great Dunes Park, the event venue in 2011.
New race producer: The Jekyll Island Authority is partnering with Set-up Events to produce the 2012 Turtle Crawl Triathlon. Set-up Events has an extensive background in race production and timing. The Turtle Crawl Triathlon is part of their 2012 Georgia series.

The Georgia Sea Turtle Center provides state-of-the-art emergency care to sick and injured sea turtles, with opportunities for scientific research and long-term treatment.
