Guest Chefs
Each year the Jekyll Island Shrimp & Grits Festival plays host to several guest chefs for cooking demonstrations, book-signings, and guest appearances. Cooking demonstration take place that the Pier Road Stage.
Chef Gena Knox knows that preparing tasty and healthy meals is amazingly uncomplicated when using fresh ingredients combined with good food instincts. She founded Fire & Flavor with her husband Davis Knox in September 2003 as a way to provide home cooks with flavorful and easy-to-prepare cooking option. Gena is the author, Gourmet Made Simple, published in May 2008, which shares her true passion for food and helps take the challenge out of gourmet cooking for home chefs. Chef Joe Randall is a forty-eight year veteran of the hospitality and food service industry. Randall has worked his way up through the ranks from Air Force flight line kitchens to executive chef post at a dozen restaurants, including the award-winning Cloister Restaurant in Buffalo, New York and Baltimore's Fishmarket in Maryland. He now owns and operates the Joe Randall Cooking School in Savannah, Georgia. Chef Randall will be judging both the Amateur and Professional Cooking Competition and hosting a cooking demonstration on Saturday.
Chef Warren Caterson is the author of Table for Two-The Cookbook for Couples, the perfect cookbook for young couples, empty nesters, and everyone in between. He will demonstrate that a fresh, delicious dinner can be on the table in under an hour, with a minimum of leftovers. He will be hosting a cooking demonstration on Sunday. DOWNLOAD WARREN'S RECIPE
